Bithry Inlet, 30min walk or 5min drive, is the sea entrance to Wapengo Lake. It is a glorious place to swim – take care in the tidal channel. It is also a magnificent spot to kayak. At the far side of Wapengo lake are oyster farms where you can buy fresh tasty Sydney Rock Oysters. Bithry Inlet is also the site of the Myer House at Penders, once a privately owned beach house, now gifted to the National Park.
Local arts, the locality of Tanja is creative hamlet full of artist studios. Look out for open studio signs along the road. There is a very classy colonial style farmhouse gallery, Ivy Hill just north of Tanja Lagoon Camp.
